What Is The Most Important Thing Your Baby Needs?

What is the most important thing that your baby needs?

Yes, your baby needs the essentials that you may see in the store and read about on the internet. But, there is one thing that your baby needs that is very important.

Do you know what that is?

It’s YOU

Yes, Mama it’s you.

Now let me put a disclaimer here and say that I understand there are circumstances in this world that are not ideal and I pray that God will watch over those mamas and babies.

You Are Very Important

You…dear Mama have to take care of yourself.

You are the most important person to your little baby and you are very much needed.

Now lets talk about what you need. You need rest and sleep. I know this will be difficult in the first months and sometimes years when you have a baby and then later on a toddler. But sleep is super important. It helps your body heal and restore itself and you need a lot of that after having your baby.

I agree wholeheartedly that you need to sleep when your baby sleeps. Whether it is night or day. Leave all those things that need to get done unchecked and leave them for another day or for someone else to do.

I know what it feels like when you are barely able to function with the basics due to lack of sleep. I had 3 older children when I had my other two daughters within two years of each other. All I can say is that I don’t know how I would have made it without Gods help and sleep.

You need to eat. You need nourishment for your body and plenty of it. There are so many great recipes out there that can be made pretty quick. Get your family involved and don’t turn down offers of food or help.

If you have family and relatives wanting to help then consider yourself very blessed. Especially in the first couple of months after having a baby. You will be able to better handle all the changes that you are going through. If you don’t have family who can help then please reach out to a local church. There are still really good people out there that are willing to help you.

Don’t worry too much about what you are looking like right now. What I mean is that extra weight that helped cushion your baby. Get yourself some comfy but still stylish clothes to get you through this time.

This may be the time to take things easy and catch up on some reading, maybe watch some movies or TV shows. Take the pressure off of yourself to get out and do all the things. You really don’t. If you have other children maybe this is the time to spend more time reading to them or playing games with them.

Don’t forget your hubby. Order some food and have a date night at home. That was one of my favorite things to do when we had small children. My husband and I would order food once the kids were in bed and we would watch a movie and enjoy our food.

Take one day at a time because this time will pass and one day you will look back on it and wonder how you ever got through it.
